Daniela Venosa, Psy.D.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of South Florida (USF) and received my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Florida School of Professional Psychology, Tampa (FSPP). I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the State University of New York at Albany (SUNY), University Counseling Center.

Throughout the course of my graduate training, I have acquired extensive experience working with different populations, which included children and adults at the Rothman Center for Pediatric Neuropsychiatry, children and adolescents at the Hillsborough County Public School System in Tampa, and adults at the University of South Florida Counseling Center in St. Petersburg and at Florida Southern College Counseling Center in Lakeland.

My treatment approach is eclectic and I often integrate various techniques, including client-centered, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral methods. I tailor my approach to each client and collaborate to develop the most appropriate treatment plan. My overall goal is to build a positive therapeutic relationship with my clients based on empathy and warmth, in a nonjudgmental environment.

I provide individual psychotherapy to adults. I also have experience with couples, family, and group therapy. Throughout my training I had the opportunity to work with numerous clients from varying backgrounds, cultural experiences, and difficulties related to adjustment problems, depression, anxiety, relational problems, self-esteem, anger issues, trauma, bereavement, personality disorders, substance dependence, learning disabilities, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.

In addition to psychotherapy, I provide psychological testing, including a variety of intellectual, achievement, personality, symptoms checklist assessments to assess for learning disabilities, adjustment difficulties, personality factors, and emotional functioning.

I am currently an in-network provider for several insurance companies. If you wish to see me on an out-of-network basis, I can provide you with the paperwork needed to obtain reimbursement from your insurance plan.
