Hello and welcome! After living in the snow, I am excited to be back in my hometown soaking up the sun and heat. I enjoy outdoor activities such as boating, four-wheeling, and scalloping as well as spending time with my husband, daughter, and yellow lab named Cash.

Academically, I received my BA in psychology at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. I went on to receive my Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from National Louis University, specializing in Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology. I completed my pre-doctoral internship training at Ohio Guidestone in Cleveland, Ohio. My training experiences have been in a multitude of settings such as the Hillsborough County Public School System, the Polk County Juvenile Justice System, private practices and community mental health agencies. I have worked with a variety of preschoolers, children and adolescents within diverse cultural backgrounds and clinical presentations related to:

Specifically, I specialize in working with young children with developmental and behavioral concerns as well as attachment difficulties. I also had the opportunity to work at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for two years specializing in the treatment of anxious and depressive symptoms in those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Overall, my treatment approach focuses on working with children and their families to help evaluate what treatment strategies work best within their family system. My training includes a variety of treatment modalities such as play therapy, child-parent psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, and group therapy. Specifically, I have conducted groups related to social skills, kindergarten readiness, and girls groups.

In addition to therapy, I also perform psychological assessments and gifted evaluations for children and adolescents. I completed my dissertation validating assessments in children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in order to understand the best assessments to use with particular populations. Evaluations are important in the assessment of learning disabilities, intellectual functioning, trauma and attachment, emotional behavioral disorders as well as symptoms related to Attention/Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
